HOW WE CARE FOR A CARD

Wipe it first.Then a little Banly's.

Chrome, Prizm, Optic, Mosaic, refractors. Not paper, not matte, not autos. Run it on a base card of the same stock before you touch anything you'd miss. Takes five minutes and it tells you how that stock behaves.

MOST OF THE TIME

Wipe it off.

Dry cloth, then Banly's, then cloth until you can't feel wax. Dirt comes off. Shine comes back from the wiping. A light scratch might come off too. Might not.

ONCE IN A WHILE

Leave a little on.

Same thin pass, skip the last wipe. It stays soft in a penny sleeve and still comes off years later. Graders count leftover wax as a foreign substance, so anything headed for a slab gets wiped clean first.

THE CARD IN THE BOX

Gently wipe surface of card with applicator or microfiber cloth. Use with light pressure. Do not oversaturate. Let air dry. Store in a cool, dry place.

The teardrop foam comes in the Full Care Kit. The starter is the tin and a cloth, so work the paste into the cloth instead. With the boxed kit, go foam first, then cloth if you want it back off. Where this page and the printed card disagree, this page is newer.

STEP BY STEP

Easy. Don't rush it.

  1. 01

    Look at it

Lamp on, tilt it. Fingerprints and haze are the easy ones. Print lines, factory lines, creases, chips — those are still going to be there when you're done.

  2. 02

    Dry cloth

Clean microfiber, one direction, easy. Just wiping puts shine back. A lot of chrome only needed this step.

  3. 03

    A little Banly's

Boxed kit: pea-size on the white foam. Butter it across the pad, don't dig into the tin. Starter: same pea-size, worked into the cloth. Thin pass. This is where a light scratch might come off. Don't flood it.

  4. 04

Wipe it — or leave it

Clean card? Pull the paste off. Want a little film in the sleeve? Leave it. It stays soft. We've taken it off years later. If it looks wet, wipe again.

  5. 05

    Then sleeve it

If color lifts or it looks soft, stop. Let it air dry. Penny sleeve, top loader.

HANDLING AND STORAGE

The boring part, which still matters.

Same warnings that are printed on the box. Putting them here too so you can read them before the kit shows up.

  1. 01

    Keep it away from children

Store the tin out of reach. It looks like something you could eat and it isn't.

  2. 02

    Not food

Don't swallow it. Keep it off your eyes and out of your mouth. Wash your hands when you're done for the night.

  3. 03

If it gets somewhere it shouldn't

Eyes: rinse with water for a few minutes. Swallowed, or irritation that doesn't settle down: call a doctor or Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 and tell them it's beeswax, carnauba, olive oil, aloe, lecithin, and diatomaceous earth.

  4. 04

    Know your own allergies

There's beeswax and carnauba palm wax in the tin. If you react to bee products or plant waxes, skip it. The applicator pad is open-cell polyurethane foam.

  5. 05

    Store it cool and dry

Away from heat and direct sun. Warm enough and the paste will soften and separate in the tin. It firms back up, but the texture is never quite the same.

  6. 06

    Don't breathe the dust

There's no loose powder in a finished tin — the diatomaceous earth is already bound into the paste. If you're sourcing raw DE yourself, that's a different story, and it's a respiratory irritant dry.

None of that is medical advice, and it isn't a full safety data sheet. It's a wax paste made from named food-grade and cosmetic ingredients, handled the way you'd handle any of them. Questions about a specific ingredient, write admin@banlys.com and we'll answer.

DON'T

Don't pack a groove.

No paper stock. No Windex or anything under the kitchen sink. No soaking, no sanding the edges, no working leftover wax down into a print line. Every one of those shows up under a lamp, and a grader will find them.
